Ways to Keep Your Console Safe from Harm

Console Protection

It is unfortunate, but sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where our consoles can break. It can be easy to get a PS3 repaired or an Xbox 360 fixed, but you want to avoid that situation if you can. These are some of the best ways to keep your console, your games, and yourself safe while playing in order to make sure that it lasts for a long time.

Don’t Leave Things Lying Around

Sometimes when we are finished with a game we want to just shut it off and leave it there, but you don’t want to leave your games inside the console when you aren’t playing and you certainly don’t want to leave your games or your consoles on the floor where they can be stepped on easily. Always think about where you are placing your items. You never want there to be a situation where you hear a crack, and you spend a few seconds hoping it isn’t that limited edition game you just purchased and finally reached the last level in after 45 hours of game play.

Be Careful With It

You’d think this would be obvious for people who just spent several hundred dollars on an Xbox One, a PlayStation 4, or a Wii U, but many people don’t realize that these consoles are made out of several delicate parts. If you were to drop the console, then it may never work again. This isn’t the only thing you have to worry about though; you also have to keep it away from intense heat or direct sunlight. If the console gets too hot then you can damage it to a huge extent.

With that being said, you also want to keep it away from magnets. If the internal parts of these consoles were exposed to magnets, then you may lose more than just your console, but also all of your video game progress as well, and no one wants to go back and redo 100 hours of gameplay on a JRPG, no matter how much fun it may be.

Don’t Play it for Too Long

This can be a blasphemous thing to say to any gamer. As you are not hardcore unless you have spent 18 hours on a video game and the only time you stop to play is to eat, and sleep, and look up walkthroughs. Playing for too long though puts a great deal of strain on your console, and it can cause it to overheat. Sure that extra round of Call of Duty may be calling out to you, but you may want to call it a night instead of looking in horror as your PS3 unexpectedly shuts off and your warranty just expired a few days ago.

A console is an amazing piece of machinery, but it can also be pretty easy to break. You should always be careful with it, but even then there are accidents that can happen. If that does happen don’t fret, you can always get a PlayStation, Xbox or Wii U console repaired with the right people.
